About
VÄXELVERKAN The exhibition, created by Jakob Jennerholm Hammar (b. 1991) and Josefin Åberg (b. 1995), is a collaborative project and exchange of knowledge that explores the relationship between technology and craftsmanship, patterns, materials, and code. With backgrounds in creative programming, as well as textile art and design, the exhibition takes shape through a dialogue between two artistic practices. Despite initial differences in working methods, the artists converge in code-based structures and the algorithmic nature of textiles. Their collaboration began in preparation for the previous exhibition "Bristfälliga instruktioner" (2023) and in a shared search for the transformative potential of the flawed. Through uncontrollable digital flows, technical glitches, improvisation, and unfinished conversations, something unpredictable and surprising emerges from the strict grids that frame and shape pixels and fibers. The title of the exhibition stems from an artistic process where exchange and mutual influence are central—a work where two artists meet, much like strong-willed materials and unpredictable technologies.
