About

Sofia Zaiceva & Ľubomír Slovinský are two of the four artists selected for Nonagon's residency program 2025. During their two-week residency at Svanö, they collaboratively created a new audiovisual work tailored specifically for the cistern. Sofia Zaiceva, working with sound, and Ľubomír Slovinský, creating visuals, responded to the unique acoustics and atmosphere of the space, crafting a piece that directly engages with the cistern's distinctive environment. Their work will be presented for the first time to an audience in the cistern at Nonagon Festival 2026.

Biography

Ľubomír Slovinský (SK) is a visual artist, designer, and educator working at the intersection of digital media, cartography, and environmental memory. With a background in animation, projection mapping, and interactive installations, L’ubomír’s work often bridges art and science, exploring the layered histories of landscapes shaped by human activity. Deeply rooted in his mining-region origins, Ľubomír creates site-specific projects that involve field research, data collection, and artifact gathering—often culminating in immersive audiovisual experiences. For the Nonagon residency, he will delve into the industrial past and ecological memory of Svanö’s terrain, using video projection, real-time interaction, and even microscopic imagery to transform found materials into a spatially immersive performance.
